Erstwhile Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has gotten engaged with Italian yacht tycoon boyfriend, Fabrizio Politi, after a whirlwind romance which has, per the most generous British press estimates, lasted just over a month.

"We are delighted to announce the engagement of Geri Halliwell and Fabrizio Politi," trumpeted a statement released by 19, her management company.

"As a token of their commitment to each other Fabrizio presented Geri with an engagement ring over the festive season," the statement continued.

"There are no immediate plans for marriage as the couple are enjoying their engagement,"The 36-year-old Ginger Spice met Politi, 34, in a Florence nightclub in December and they have been inseparable ever since, enjoying paparazzi attention in Paris and the Maldives.
